Hollywood Icon Robert De Niro is the face of LIT DAO’s Motion NFT Collection! It features black and white digital images of the two-time Oscar winner’s face moving and reacting to the price of Ether real-time. This unique NFT offering aims to show the dynamic interplay between market volatility and emotional volatility.
LIT DAO x Robert De Niro’s NFT
The team programmed the reactive NFT to watch Ethereum at all times and respond to its movements. So in a way, it mimics the actions of existing token holders who constantly do the same. According to the OpenSea listing, “this technology is alive. By responding to its motions, we create the culture in a symbiotic relationship.”
LIT DAO released the tokens for whitelisted wallets last January 8. The minting cost was 0.068 Ether or just above $200. As of press time, NFTs have already been minted and the tokens are now available on the OpenSea. The floor price has climbed to 0.23 Ether or around $717. So in just a few days, the NFTs appreciated by about 338%!
Given the crypto market’s current condition, the NFT bearing Robert De Niro’s face has little reason to show a happy face. Ethereum’s price dropped back below $3,000 Monday morning, extending a slide that started last week and lasted through the weekend. Overall, the market is in a slump because of the release of minutes from the Federal Reserve Board’s December meeting. So the uncertainty over the Omicron COVID-19 variant is unsettling the market.
